Feng Shui- How To Feng Shui

If you want to learn how to feng shui and be in harmony with your surroundings, there are a few things you should know about this practice first. Knowing these basics will help you better appreciate the value of what you learn later.

Feng Shui Basics
Feng Shui, also pronounced as fung shway, is attributed to the Chinese. They practiced the art of managing matter and space in order to be in sync with the environment. Translating directly, Feng Shui means wind-water. However, long ago Feng Shui was called Kan-Yu which means The Law of Heaven and Earth. Today, real feng shui is taught by the masters. It is rumoured that only a few carefully chosen students are taught by the masters.

Kua Number
One of the important considerations in this practice is the kua number. A kua number consists of a person birth details. Everyone has one and each number is unique. Each one is also calculated differently for women and men and each oner can affect the success in all aspects of your life. By calculating the number with that of the people around you, you can determine and control the two basic energies- the Yin and Yang.

These are the male and female energies that must be respected and controlled. The kua number is a complex study and I will have to go into detail in another article.

Tips For Arrangement of Objects
Here are some tips about the placement of objects in your home or office. These tips will help to draw more positive energy into your living space and as such improve your vitality and outlook in life.

- The arrangement of plants in an spot that points east is said to boost your financial well-being.
- If you have something in a place pointing to the north that pertains to using water, this is supposed to bring you luck in your career.
- For happiness in relationships, do not use a mirror in a bedroom. Inviting positive energy into your home is one of the most vital ways of improving your chances for good health and success in business.
- You can easily do this by placing a laughing Buddha at the entrance door to a room.

Conclusion
Keep in mind that the feng shui today differs from the one that was practiced in ancient times. The key is to balance all parts of your life- health, money and relationships with the environment.

If you are very serious about learning how to feng shui, you may want to call in a professional. This is because when used incorrectly, this practice could actually be counterproductive for you. Hence, it is advisable that a professional lead you in the placement of objects in your home and the acquisition of objects that you may need. A professional can suggest things that exist in your home that may need to be changed. By following the advice of someone who knows feng shui you can better take control of your own destiny.
